This black Faux Leather Pleated Skirt has been in my arsenal for over a year. I have gotten so much use out it for both day and night outfits. My favorite way to wear it is with a silky tucked in top, a cozy vest, opaque tights and suede ankle booties.
I am so impressed by everything that Ann Taylor and Loft have to offer these days! They are so on trend, with great price points, amazing sales, and materials that feel much more expensive than they cost. Here are the items on my wish list right now:
I especially love the fabric on the pocket utility shirt above. It feels more like silk than polyester and it can go right in the washing machine! Do you have any favorites you have seen in store lately? Let me know! Have a great day 🙂
I typically get nervous buying shoes or bags with hardware. I am afraid that I won’t have as many outfit options and it limits my jewelry combinations. However, these beauties above are making me sing a different tune. I am lusting over the the Chloe ones but think I will end up with the flat Report style instead. Which bootie is your favorite?
1. Report $130
2. C. Wonder $198
3. Diba $49
4. Report $120
5. See by Chloe $425
1. Ruana $19.99 Target
2. Faux Leather Tote $34.99 H&M
3. Sunglasses $9 Lulu’s
4. Jeans $29.99 American Eagle
5. Necklace $42 (Similar) Bauble Bar
6. Long Sleeve Tee $18 American Eagle
7. Fringe Wedge Moccasin $34.99 Target
I can’t believe fall is here! Although I feel like summer went by too fast, I am starting to get excited for sweaters, boots and hot apple cider!
Before the cool air really sets in, I am sticking to pieces that are perfect for the transitional New England weather. Here are the pants I mentioned in my last post! Although I have not made many clothing purchases recently, I knew I had to snag these since they reminded me of my back to school shopping days.
These silky trousers are so effortless. They will appear more polished with a button down blouse and heels (Prabul Gurung from Target also worn here), and they will also be great for weekends in the city with a tucked in tee, ballet flats, and a scarf.
Thanks so much for reading. Have a great day!
Earlier this summer, I attended a very special wedding in Vermont at the Woodstock Inn. It was my first time in that area, and I must say I can’t wait until the next time I can go back and explore it even more!
I had my eyes on this Karen Millen dress for months but was hesitant about the $350 price tag. It fit like a glove, but it did not have any special bells and whistles that could make me justify the purchase.
I think the discount godmothers were looking out for me, because right before the wedding the price dropped to $235 and then an additional sale brought it under $145. I also have another wedding in October that this dress would be appropriate for as well so I went for it. It seemed like a sign!
To save even more money, I paired this dress with items I had in my closet: bridesmaid jewelry and shoes from a few of the weddings I have been in over the years, Grandma Grace’s “going out dancing” clutch, and contrasting turquoise nail polish done myself!
I loved exploring the neighboring town Quechee and having lunch overlooking the falls at the Restaurant at Simon Pearce. (The glass blowing was mind blowing to say the least too!) The food at the Woodstock Inn was so delicious for dinner. Our favorite breakfast was at The Mountain Creamery on Central Street in Woodstock. I have a weakness for breakfast diners, and this one did not disappoint. The homemade strawberry jam that was so good we took a few jars home for ourselves.
What do you think of the Silky Pant trend? I love how comfortable they are but it is certainly tough to find the right fit and the right pattern! Here are a few good options on the market:
1. Tucker $208
2. H&M $24.95
3. Loft $39.99
Now the question is, do you pair them with a tight fitting tee, or is it OK to wear a loose top? If your pants are truly on the edge of Harem (meaning very baggy and loose fitting) then choose something tighter so you are not engulfed in fabric. I personally prefer the pants like the ones above that are slightly loose but not too droopy so I can pair them with something flowy on top!
1. H&M (again) $24.95
3. Zara Flats $35.90
4. Forever21 Heels $29.80
5. Zara tank $39.90
I always love a good blazer for both day and night! I would finish this look with this LC Lauren Conrad version that is $39.99. I have a similar blazer by LC that has lasted surprisingly well over the past few years.
Are there any other amazing Silky Pants out there that you would like to share? Please let me know! Have a great week 🙂
Hello everyone! It has been a while! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the last week of summer!
Today I did a little “back to school” shopping. I wanted to get a few new pieces that would transition well over the next few months that are on trend (and budget). Here is a collage of my Fall Faves so far!
2. Plaid is back in a BIG way! I am loving this 90’s throw-back that is being taken on by almost every high end designer this season. This H&M shirt is my first purchase from their new online portal. $39.95
What are your go to fall items this season? Let me know! xo
Colored denim is a huge trend for Spring and Summer 2013. I personally invested in one pair of bright pink jeans and I have gotten so much use out of them. They are great at night with a blazer and pumps. They also look amazing during the day with gold flats, a white tee and a fun scarf.
However, another great way to wear colored denim is pair them with another very on trend item: a chambray shirt.
Chambray Shirt: American Eagle $39.95, Colored Denim: American Eagle $39.99 (or try Old Navy’s Rockstar Skinny Jeans for $19), Crew Neck Sweater: American Apparel $32, Gold Chain: Etsy Kookii Boutique $26.95, Printed Pumps: Amazon $19.95
If you want to take the outfit to the next level, I would also add the pièce de résistance: the floral pump. So many designers from the high end to the affordable have made versions of this high heel. The exact pair I have on in my pictures are from ASOS that I have worn here. Sadly they are not available anymore, but I have listed one in my collage above for under $40, as well as these great options below for inspiration for yourself.
Have a great weekend 🙂
