I have a few fun design projects that I am working on that I cannot wait to share with you all! In the meantime, I wanted to respond to an e-mail regarding decorating rental apartments. In many cases there is not much physically you can change besides a wall color. If you are like me, you also do not want to invest too much time and money because you may not be there long enough to fully reap the benefits.
If you have wood, tile, or even wall to wall carpeting, a great way to make a statement without breaking the bank is adding a new area rug to your space. Today there are some great places you can shop for rugs that will not make the bank.
In every apartment I have lived so far I have been fortunate enough to find a great rug on Overstock.com. They have an amazing selection and if you time it right and use a coupon code you can get it for under $150 including shipping.
I am sure some of you remember my zebra rug from my old studio in Back Bay. I got it home for $94. Today it is up in price at $116. However if you follow e-mail alerts you will be able to get it cheaper later this month with a code.
Note: Do not purchase a new rug if you have a puppy under 6 months in your apartment! It may be ripped to shreds!
I waited until I made this purchase until my dog was a little more grown up. My pet loves my carpet and getting cozy on my throw pillows!
Other places I have been successful with style and price are: Buidling 19, Ocean State Job Lot, Ikea and Target. However I personally believe overstock is the best in terms of online shopping. Where have you found a great inexpensive rug? Please let us know!
